Okay, I think most people think that the broadening of the scope of music has been a good thing, but obviously RJ will need to continue to evolve and perhaps take little detours in order to remain vibrant. So here is a place for your ideas! I'm really looking for ideas about format or one off themes for a night rather than "play more of my favourite band."

The occasional Sunday afternoon chill out RJ has been mentioned by the little fella himself. Plenty of downbeat stuff with coffee and croissants (assuming Geoff and Diane can stretch to that). All a bit French for me but I might turn up.

Me and Mr Pinder jointly propose that the next Reb Ju is a Hat Night. Wear a hat, in other words.
Hats.

I'm really liking the hat thing. A lot. You may have noticed that both Mr F and myself have been sporting hats at the recent RJs...

Evening people.
Tom my dear old pal. A bit of patience please. As a valued RJ patron you were invited on here along with a select few just to get the feel of the thing and see if there were any problems that needed ironing out. I is basically only about 5 of us at the moment. There will be a big launch shortly. The link will be on Facebook etc and then everyone will be able to have a look nd your words of expectation will be able to be read by all and sundry. Lets just make sure there's no problems for a while.
My idea is to have a 'Friday Night is Music Night' launch were we have a night when people post and link (Spotify and You Tube) stuff they think the RJ brethren should be listening to. It then goes from there as people discuss the weird and wonderful world of music.
Hats is a good idea but me and Dave wear then to cover our bald patches and grey thatches.
As interesting news to you all the next RJs will now be - get your diary out - 3rd October, 31st October, 5th December.
The latter two are Halloween - so there's a could be a theme there, Dave C - and our Christmas party so we are looking for a kind of present swap again. Plenty to look forward to then.
Also Rich is right. I have always wanted to attempt a Sunday Supplement were RJers gather to share hangovers and night before stories while drinking coffee, partaking of light breakfasts and listening to the more mellow tunes that wouldn't be played on a RJ night. However, the ambience wouldn't be right in Half Way so it wouldn't happen anytime soon but the sort of playlist w would attempt may very well be on Spotify very soon.
PS Rich can you refrain from talking abut my little fella? Ta!

Halloween RebJu does rather suggest that everyone go Goth!

After Ian's ridiculous, reckless, wrong-headed rejection of "Rhyming Requests" I don't know quite why I'm bothering, but as a tie in with Secret Santa how about "Secret Request" for Christmas?
The logistics would be for us to buy a cheap pay as you go phone (or sim as someone will have an old phone) The number is then published and people can anonymously send in requests for others. Obviously a new sim has no one'a numbers in the memory and all numbers will be deleted afterwards so that no one's identity is can be compromised.
The anonymous aspect allows people to be sincere, piss taking or slightly flirtatious as they see fit.
For example I might ask for
For Tom - Magic Bus by The Who (Because he drives a bus)
For Anne-marie - See Those Eyes by Altered Images (She has gorgeous eyes)
For Ian - Vicious by Lou Reed (Because that's how he reacts to my requests)
I'm not suggesting that all requests would be played but every half an hour or so a few could be read out and one of them played.

Have you got a Fields Of The Nephilim shirt for Halloween Goth Night?

So, this is what these forums have already descending into, eh? I leave you for half a day and all you can come up with is posts about, t-shirts, Goth (although I think I might paint me fingernails black for the 31st October!) and some convoluted idea about secret mobile phones and clandestine messages that sound very suspicious to me. Like some partner swapping party... hey, now that's an idea!

I went to one of those once, the old keys in the fruit bowl. I ended up with an AA box.
Ah, never grows old, that one.

You are bleeding lucky, son! I went to a wife swapping party once thinking I might get a packet of custard creams, a old Paper Lace leys single but ended up with another wife! What's the point?

But Ian, you could request 'Pretty Vacant' for Kev. Surely you can see the potential here?

There are a lot of songs I could dedicate to Kev. But, would rather just call him a tw@t to his face.
