Got to have one, non?
Anyway, current scene is as strong as we've ever had, IMHO. The festivals have been an excellent showcase, and it looks like the long running Sesh night will benefit from a move to Polar Bear. Trinity Fest in less than 2 weeks is looking like being a top weekend, with the Sunday line up looking especially decent.

I agree. The local music scene is very strong. However, it always has been. There's always been good bands from Hull but until the dawn of social media they have always had to move from Hull to get noticed. Conversely, this made the local scene better because after two years of banging their heads against a londoncentric wall bands split up and were soon replaced by newer, fresher, bands just as good. If anyone gets chance to listen to the tapes (yes that old) that 'Nice people' used to produce you'll hear some great bands such as Lithium Joe, Fog, Indigo Trashcan Mandlebrots to name just a few.

So, Leeds types and placers of annoying "ooooooooohhhhhh"'s in their songs, the Kaiser Chiefs will play Adelphi's 30th birthday.
Silly bastards have only scheduled it for the same night as Reb Ju. Fools.

I might invite them to an after gig party at Half Way.
Not going to play any of their stuff though but as they're Leeds fans we can all have a good laugh.

Really good, and too good for their own good.
Well worth seeing if you haven't it's a pity Simon doesn't play more often.

Alas, my reward for changing shifts to go to Reb Ju on Friday is a late shift on Saturday. Meh.

To be honest you seem to manage to get to every other f**king thing that is going on so perhaps it had to happen sometime.

Aye, they were so much better on the smaller Freedom Festival stage than they were at Humber Street Sesh, as the vids of me and Ian dancing to them will testify.

It is all the same though. But only lasts 27 mins. So Immingham's Ramones, then.
